Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of ImpulseLog, an iPhone app owned and operated by TheLocalLookoutLLC. By downloading or using ImpulseLog, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What ImpulseLog does

ImpulseLog helps you pause impulse purchases, record saved, bought, and pending decisions, use wait timers and shopping lists, add optional mood or place context, set goals, and review patterns in information you choose to log. An amount recorded as not spent is an estimate based on your entry; it is not money moved between financial accounts. Goal assignments are also records unless you separately move the money.

Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and protect your credentials. You are responsible for activity under your account. ImpulseLog is not intended for children under 13.

Free and Premium

Free includes core decision logging, wait timers, lists, goals, mood logging, challenges, 7-day and 4-week Insights, 14-day mood history, one personalized Coach sample review after enough completed decisions, and CSV/JSON data export.

Premium is available monthly or annually and adds fresh weekly Coach reviews, saved review and check-in history, deeper Coach pattern reviews, 6-month and all-time comparisons, up to one year of mood history, and deeper mood/place/category/impulse patterns. Subscriptions are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system; the price and terms shown in Apple's purchase sheet control your transaction.

Subscriptions are processed by Apple and renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple ID subscription settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Premium access generally remains available through the paid period. Refund requests are handled by Apple and applicable law.

Coach and AI

Fixed app rules calculate totals, apply observation thresholds, and select a coaching method. On eligible Coach surfaces, OpenAI GPT may express that selected plan in natural language. Coach guidance is informational only, may be incomplete, and is not financial, medical, or psychological advice. GPT does not calculate savings, choose the coaching method, or decide payment or Premium access.

Privacy and location

Our Privacy Policy explains our data practices. Nearby place lookup runs only when you request it. ImpulseLog does not perform background location tracking.

Acceptable use

You may not use the Service unlawfully, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with the Service, transmit malicious code, or misuse another person's account.

Ownership

The Service and its original code, design, content, and features are owned by TheLocalLookoutLLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Disclaimers and liability

ImpulseLog is a wellness and record-keeping tool, not a bank, budgeting guarantee, medical device, healthcare service, or substitute for professional advice. We do not guarantee savings or other financial outcomes. The Service is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE.”

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheLocalLookoutLLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.

Ending use and changes

You may delete your account from Settings. We may suspend access for a material breach of these Terms or to protect the Service and its users. We may update these Terms and will provide notice of material changes through the app, website, or email as appropriate.

Applicable law

These Terms are governed by applicable law, without limiting mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
